Target Audience

After having created our film opening and having finished our film plan, we then had to decided what would be the most appropriate film certificate to rate our film. It was made easier to do once we had created our opening as we got a good feel for how gory and disturbing the rest of the film would play out. Therefore, we decided that a 15 would be the most appropriate certificate for our film for a handful of reasons.

The first being a range of inappropriate language may be included as this makes a film more realistic of someone responding to danger. Moreover, another reason is that a 15 certificate allows there to be strong violent scenes without an extensive focus on the infliction of pain, injury or gory images.

It was important especially for our film to choose a 15 due to the psychological impact that this genre can have on a younger audience. This is due to scenes that will play on the audience's minds by which a younger audience could suffer from emotional damage. In addition to this, our target audience after gaining audience feedback, was decided on late teens and early adults, therefore we would not be excluding a large potential audience by choosing our film to be a 15, concluding thereby that this is the most appropriate film certificate for Hail.
